Meet The Team Behind AlertFox.

MathiasMathias Roth / CEO & Founder

mr@alertfox.com

Mathias is the technical Founder of AlertFox. Fascinated with robots and artificial intelligence from early on, the idea and goal behind AlertFox is that the next generation of website monitoring services should be smarter, faster and work just like a human being. He is also the original author of iMacros, a popular web automation software with hundreds of thousands of users. Before starting out on his own, he worked for the business software giant SAP, where he was responsible for the design of HR-specific databases. Mathias received a master's degree in physics from the University of Karlsruhe and a PhD in Electrical Engineering for his thesis on pattern recognition from the University of Munich. He is the main author of five patents. When not working on AlertFox, he is figuring out methods to make his remote controlled Quadrotor fly by itself.

DanielDaniel Steinberg / Lead Engineer, Front-End

ds@alertfox.com

Daniel is the lead front-end and database developer at AlertFox. He enjoys working on the AlertFox website, where he applies his many years of experience in .NET technology. At different points throughout his carrier Daniel has worked in both small start-ups as well as one of the world's biggest oil companies. He enjoys the friendly and multicultural environment at AlertFox. Daniel is fluent in four human and a dozen computer languages, with French and Spanish next on his list to learn. Outside of work hours Daniel spends much time with his two small daughters. He loves traveling, reading and teaching his daughters to read. He holds a bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics and a master's in Computer Science. He also studied Christian Theology and Jewish History.

HannesHannes Michalek / Lead Engineer, Back-End

hm@alertfox.com

Hannes is the lead developer for the AlertFox back-end infrastructure. When not working on our service's software architecture he's concerned with utilizing the power and reliability of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) for our customers' needs. Being a computer enthusiast since his school days, he rarely missed the chance to use "the machine" (which, chronologically, means: batch files, Turbo Pascal, Prolog, shell scripts, PHP/MySQL, Perl, Java, C++/QT and C#) for avoiding dull tasks as well as for pure enjoyment, and - since 2002 - does both for a living. No wonder he got in touch with the world of free software during his days at university, which made him both the author of several FOSS applications as well as our local Linux Guru-in-residence who accounts for our company's various Linux-based software systems. Hannes holds a PhD in Theoretical Computer Science in addition to a Master in Philosophy, so at AlertFox he really enjoys not only holding his head in, but also getting his hands on the "cloud". What can keep him away from his desk are the demands of a young family and his addiction to real life including literature (from Franzen to Pratchett), music as well as sports and board/card games.

MarciaMarcia Fontenele / Lead Engineer, Transaction Monitoring

mf@alertfox.com

Marcia keeps the threads of iMacros - the transaction monitoring logic that powers AlertFox - running smoothly. She is the lead developer and product manager for the iMacros tool set. She enjoys coding in Java, C++ and C#, and integrates the Javascript tools and extensions for other platforms into the iMacros solution. Her favorite task is to hunt and kill the "last" bug and it shows. She actually never stops to amaze us there. It's no surprise that she studied theoretical physics with a focus on scientific computing and received her PhD in the same area. Apart from threading in computing, she also deals with real threads. She studies the topology of clothing to design and develop her own personal fashion label "feito em casa".

TomTom DiMarco / Head of Customer Support

td@alertfox.com

Tom is the head of customer support for iMacros and AlertFox. As a software engineer for most of his career, he spent a lot of time designing and implementing distributed component solutions to power web, desktop, and IVR-based applications. After a successful run with an Internet start-up in the early 2000's, he decided to apply his technical and business skill to his passion for multiplayer video games and opened an Internet & LAN game center in his local community. This provided him with the opportunity for the first time to focus more on people rather than just machine, and he brings the same devotion to connect with each individual customer to his current capacity as chief troubleshooter and problem solver. Tom holds a BS degree in Information Systems Management from Salisbury University, Maryland. When he's not busy writing and tweaking macros, you can find him blasting virtual foes online, competing in regional and national foosball tournaments, or simply enjoying a long walk in the country with his wife and dog.
